We’re engineers, designers, and people who check

We are building the layer that decides whether a number is worth acting on. Agents spend money on data they cannot check; Metera checks it, and says plainly how far the checking got.

The problems here are unusually well defined and unusually unforgiving. Source independence, freshness, agreement between venues, the difference between a quantity that was observed and one that was computed. Most of them are questions of evidence rather than of throughput.

The standard is higher than most places, in one specific way: every claim the product makes has to survive somebody asking where the number came from. That applies to the people who work here too.

Values

Anchored in strong beliefs and principles

  • 1

We say what we know, and no more

A number we cannot back does not ship. When the verification does not reach the level asked for, the engine refuses instead of guessing, and refusing costs the caller nothing.

  • 2

Measured beats assumed, and the difference is stated

Where a figure is a declared prior rather than a measurement, the payload says so in those words. Presenting an assumption in the clothes of a result is the failure we exist to catch in other people.

  • 3

    Check your own output first

The habit that matters most here is asking how do we know that about our own answers. Nearly everything worth fixing in this system was found by somebody refusing to accept an answer that looked fine.

  • 4

    Wrong in public, corrected quickly

Being mistaken is cheap and normal. Defending a mistake because it is already shipped is neither. We would rather rewrite a claim than protect it.

  • 5

    Every detail is a promise

A verification level, a timestamp, a caveat, a rounded decimal. Someone acts on each of them with money. There is no cosmetic layer in this product.

  • 6

    Small team, real ownership

You will own surfaces end to end rather than tickets, and the distance between deciding something and it being live in front of paying agents is measured in hours.
